#ThankANurse May 6-12 National Nurses WeekMay 6-12 each year is National Nurses Week, a dedicated time for recognizing and appreciating the hard work of nurses and the sacrifices they make.

Here at the Obesity Action Coalition (OAC), we wanted to take National Nurses Week to say “thank you” to the nurses in our Community, and across the country, for all you do and have done for us – particularly during the past year.

OAC’s Community is diverse, including many nurses and healthcare workers who support our work and also support patients of their own who are affected by obesity. We recognize that nursing is hard and tiring work, and we are grateful for the passion you put into your craft while supporting and caring for patients in all kinds of ways.

This past year especially, nurses and healthcare workers were on the frontlines of the global COVID-19 pandemic. They took risks to go to work, worked longer hours, and adapted to rapidly-changing protocols. Nurses not only provided physical care to patients, but also support for them and their loved ones. This week and every day, nurses should be celebrated for their hard work and dedication.

Thank you again to all the nurses in our Community, from all backgrounds and health fields, for everything you do!
