Learning is the beginning of health. Being able to learn from and connect with others in a shared, empowering space can help you set your own course for your wellness.
Health Talks – New to OAC!
That is why the Obesity Action Coalition (OAC) is proud to launch “Health Talks,” a NEW educational tool for our Membership and anyone wanting to get further connected with the OAC!
OAC Health Talks are short (20-min), quarterly educational videos diving deeper into specific health topics we know our community and the public care about. They are designed to empower individuals by educating and connecting them to trusted health experts who lean on the science to provide straightforward, practical answers and insight. Our Health Talks will provide an open space that supports conversation, engages viewers in specific and relevant health topics, and lets you connect with peers while watching.
First Health Talk – Saturday, May 15
The first OAC Health Talk will be livestreamed on OAC’s YouTube channel on Saturday, May 15 at 3:00 pm EST/12:00 pm PT and will cover the topic, “COVID-19 and Getting Back Out There.”
There is no doubt that COVID-19 has had a profound effect on all our lives, and as restrictions are slowly being lifted, we know there is a lot on everyone’s minds as we re-enter society and navigate this new normal. The OAC is honored to have Robyn Pashby, PhD, a licensed clinical health psychologist and certified health coach, address these concerns and provide useful guidance on navigating the post-COVID world.
Here are some of the key points this Health Talk will address:
- Pandemic weight gain/regain
- Anxiety around re-entering society
- Judgement for different comfort levels
- Post-COVID changes (video calls, remote work, telehealth, social interaction, etc.)
