OAC Welcomes a New Supporter in Joslin Diabetes Center
This month, the OAC is pleased to announce a partnership with the Joslin Diabetes Center to support their Primary Care Congress for Cardiometabolic Health. As excess weight, obesity and severe obesity are all risk factors for developing type 2 diabetes, the OAC supports Joslin Diabetes Center’s mission to help providers offer their patients optimal management for diabetes and all its related conditions. Joslin Diabetes Center has also signed-on to support promotional efforts for the upcoming 2nd Annual Your Weight Matters National Convention.
Discussion at the Primary Care Congress will be interactive and immersive, offering cutting-edge clinical science and evidence-based recommendations for cardiometabolic health.
Attendees will be able to:
- Better recognize cardiometabolic risk factors as well as cardiovascular disease
- Develop and use a weight management and lifestyle intervention system that works
- Meet with international and national experts, advisors, and peers one-to-one
- Earn more than 25 continuing education credits from Harvard Medical School
Participants will examine the components of the cardiometabolic syndrome, its many—sometimes surprising—related conditions, and clinical approaches to prevent and control them. The goal is for attendees to understand the cardiometabolic syndrome and its implications, while improving their clinical skills to address these concerns in patients.
The 2013 Primary Care Congress for Cardiometabolic Health will take place April 23-25, at the Seaport Hotel in Boston. For registration and more information, click here.
OAC Chairman’s Council Welcomes Two New Members
This month, we are proud to welcome two new supporters at the Chairman’s Council level – Novo Nordisk and ResMed. Both of these companies are new to supporting the OAC and we are proud to highlight their contributions in making a difference.
Novo Nordisk joins the Council as a Bronze level member. Novo Nordisk is a focused healthcare company and a world leader in diabetes care. The OAC is excited to have Novo Nordisk as part of the Chairman’s Council and appreciates their support and commitment to helping those affected by obesity. ResMed recently joined at the Patron level and are the creators of the Wake up to Sleep Program, a sleep apnea support community intended to help individuals along their journey with sleep apnea. For more information on the Wake up to Sleep Program, please visit www.wakeuptosleep.com.
The OAC Chairman’s Council is a great starting place for companies that want to get involved in the OAC’s efforts to help individuals affected by obesity.
