Registration is now open for the 5th Annual Your Weight Matters National Convention — the leading educational conference created to provide attendees with the RIGHT information about weight and health. This year’s Convention (YWM2016) is taking place August 25-28 in Washington, DC, and it’s an event that will inspire attendees to continue on their journey toward better health!

With all the information that’s out in the world about weight and how to manage it, it’s important that Americans know they’re getting the facts. There are more than 93 million Americans affected by obesity, and these same individuals spend approximately $60 billion each year on weight-loss products.

This astounding figure represents why the Obesity Action Coalition (OAC), the Nation’s most powerful voice dedicated to helping individuals affected by excess weight and obesity, has hosted the Your Weight Matters National Convention each year since 2012 — because individuals want the right information when striving to manage their weight, and they want to receive that information in a safe and judgment-free environment.

The topics attendees will learn about at YWM2016 can be used by anyone — no matter where they are at on their weight-loss journey. There are more than 50 topics being covered in this year’s program agenda, on subjects such as:

  • “Health by Design: Creating a Mindful Eating Environment”
  • “Energy In, Energy Out – Rethinking the Balance”
  • “Achieving Health: A Look at Your Weight Management Options”

With registration now open, individuals can sign-up to attend this one-of-a-kind event, where they will have access to world-renowned physicians, researchers and scientists in the obesity healthcare field, including: Cornell Food & Brand Lab Researcher and best-selling author Brian Wansink, PhD, obesity physician, Robert Kushner, MD; and winners of ABC’s “My Diet is Better Than Yours,” Jasmin Queen and Dawn Jackson Blatner, RDN.

“The lessons that you learn (at the Convention) aren’t from random gurus — they’re actually from scientific-based people who have information you can trust,” said Ms. Blatner. “It’s information that you can’t find anywhere else, from respected individuals, and at the same time, you get connections and friends that care about the same thing.”

Registration for YWM2016 starts at just $30/day for single-day registrations. While YWM2016 is patient-focused, healthcare professionals benefit from the event as well, and the OAC is proud to offer 16 continuing education credits to some nurses and healthcare professionals who attend this year’s event!
