Expanding Our Reach and Convention Events

While the purpose and vision of our Convention has always remained the same, what has changed is the way we connect with attendees and deliver an immersive educational experience.

Taking our Convention virtual for the past two years provided a unique opportunity to expand our reach. It’s clear that the need for access to quality, science-based education has never been more critical. Still, we also recognize that our Community is ready to connect in-person again to dive deeper into their health and advocacy journeys.

This year, we’re excited to announce that our Convention is EXPANDING and will now offer two separate events for 2022, both designed to meet the needs of our diverse Community: YWM2022-Virtual (online) and YWM2022-Engage (in person).

YWM2022-Virtual
(May 14-15 – Convention Online Platform)

YWM2022-Virtual will take place on our Convention online platform and present eight topics over two days, all designed to provide science-based weight management strategies presented by the country’s leading experts in the field.

The weekend will be packed with education and opportunities to connect with fellow attendees. Expect to hear topics relating to the science of obesity and weight gain, nutrition strategies, exercise, mental health, the impact of weight bias on obesity care, and much more!

You can also participate in post-event chat opportunities to connect with fellow attendees for additional support.

Registration Information and Pricing:

Registration for YWM2022-Virtual will open in March, but here’s what you can expect in the meantime:

  • A FREE registration option to the LIVE event in real-time, with access to post-event chats and the virtual EXPO Hall
  • A $50 option with all of the above, plus after-hours access to event recordings and an official commemorative pin
  • A $90 option for earning CE Credits – perfect for nurses, dietitians and other health professionals who want to attend alongside patients to better understand their needs and concerns

YWM2022-Engage
(July 14-16 – Westin Lake Las Vegas)

The OAC is making plans to be back together in-person this summer at the Westin Lake Las Vegas at our newly re-established in-person Convention – YWM-Engage!

YWM-Engage is now the official name of OAC’s in-person Convention and is a limited-capacity event for those who want to take a deeper dive into weight and health education, while also focusing on making connections and learning how to take action to advance our cause.

This will be our most immersive Convention experience yet! You can expect presentations from leading experts, hands-on workshops, advocacy trainings, social events, meaningful connection opportunities and much more.

Registration Information and Pricing:

While the finalized event schedule and registration for YWM2022-Engage are not yet available, we’ll have an easy registration option that includes the entire event experience.

YWM2022-Engage Registration: $100

The OAC is currently monitoring situations that may arise with COVID-19 that may impact the health and safety of our Convention attendees. Rest assured, the OAC will provide any updates to changes or modifications to our in-person meeting in a timely manner.

Hotel Information and Pricing – Westin Lake Las Vegas

YWM-Engage will be hosted at the beautiful and tranquil Westin Lake Las Vegas in Henderson, NV, about 25 min. from the Vegas strip. The OAC has secured a fantastic preferred room rate for attendees at just $159/night! Hotel guests can also enjoy a reduced resort fee, free Wi-Fi in guest rooms, and much more.

The room block is not yet open, but we’ll keep you updated. Make your arrangements early because YWM2022-Engage is a limited-capacity, ticketed event!

Convention Scholarship Program – Making it Possible for All to Experience YWM

As OAC expands its Convention offerings with two exciting events, we’re happy to share that our OAC Scholarship Program will continue!

Since we want anyone to be able to experience all that our Convention has to offer, we created OAC’s Scholarship Program to help individuals by awarding grants that fund or offset the associated expenses of attending.

This year, OAC will offer a limited number of scholarships for YWM-Virtual and YWM-Engage, giving more individuals the chance to take part. We plan to open the application process in the coming months, so stay tuned to our channels for updates.
