The Obesity Action Coalition has worked to create a better world for people with obesity for over 17 years through advocacy. It may feel intimidating, but we’re here to help you find your voice and use your voice… because advocacy is the only way to create real change. Inspired by the momentum built during our advocacy workshops at YWM2022-Engage, the OAC is pleased to offer a new resource for our members: The Advocacy Town Hall Series.

The Advocacy Town Halls will be recorded. By signing up to attend, you are giving your permission to be recorded.

About the Advocacy Town Hall Series

The OAC’s Advocacy Town Hall Series is designed for anyone interested in becoming an obesity advocate for themselves and others. The five-part series will be hosted by OAC leadership via Zoom every other Thursday evening in the fall. Sessions will cover timely topics such as OAC’s priority issue areas, targeting decision-makers, and more!

Each live session will include a 15-20 minute lesson breaking down an issue or advocacy training topic followed by a Q&A conversation with advocacy experts. These interactive sessions are the perfect opportunity to connect with OAC leadership to ask any questions you have about how you can become more involved and more impactful in your efforts.

After each session, you’ll be an empowered advocate, equipped with the tools you need to tackle the issues people with obesity face every day. You will walk away from the Advocacy Town Hall Series knowing how to be the best obesity advocate you can be!
