Tampa, Fla. – The OAC is excited to host a special segment on OAC TV for the Stop Weight Bias Campaign. The segment will highlight new campaign features, real stories of weight bias, special guests and a surprise to help raise awareness of the campaign’s mission to stop weight bias.

“The Stop Weight Bias Campaign has been a truly amazing initiative for the OAC. Unfortunately, we continue to see bias in so many areas of life for people affected by obesity. The Stop Weight Bias Campaign has set its sights on elevating awareness of these instances of bias and educating the general public,” said Joe Nadglowski, OAC President and CEO.

The Stop Weight Bias Campaign was created with the purpose to raise awareness, change public perceptions, push equality forward and put a stop to weight bias. The OAC has worked tirelessly to help people understand the harms of weight bias and give a voice to all who have experienced it. “Through our public surveying, we saw first-hand that more than 90% of U.S. adults say weight bias exists, and more than 42% of them say that they’ve experienced it. Weight bias is woven into the fabric of our society, and it’s a thread we need to pull out,” said Patty Nece, JD, OAC Chair.

The OAC encourages everyone to tune into this special segment on August 12th at 7 PM EDT broadcast on OAC TV by subscribing to the OAC’s YouTube Channel. You can also learn more about the campaign and sign-up to be part of the solution by clicking here.
