OAC President and CEO Advocates for People with Obesity at Annual Meeting of the LA and MS Association of Health Plans

Joe Nadglowski, OAC President and CEO, represented the voice of individuals affected by the disease of obesity by leading a panel discussion for more than 275 people at the recent annual meeting of the Louisiana and Mississippi Association of Health Plans. The LAHP & MAHP Annual Conference is the health insurance industry’s networking event of the year, attracting attendees representing health plan executives and staff, health care providers, pharmaceutical company representatives, insurance producers, government officials, employers, health care attorneys, government relations professionals, and more.

Joe moderated the panel featuring obesity medicine physician, Amanda Fontenot, MD, pediatric obesity medicine physician, Katie Queen, MD, employer representative, Diane Davidson from RoyOMartin, Inc., and renowned obesity researcher, Donna Ryan, MD. The panel covered what good obesity care looks like for adults, kids and from an employer perspective focusing on encouraging health plans to adopt comprehensive coverage without overly burdensome rules and restrictions.
