Urge the U.S. Secretary of Health and Human Services to Support the World Obesity Day 2020 Declaration!
In recognition of World Obesity Day (March 4th), taking place during Obesity Care Week, obesity-focused organizations across the world have sent a joint declaration to the World Health Organization (W.H.O.) calling for a global response to obesity.
The declaration calls on W.H.O. to recognize obesity as a chronic disease and treat it as such. It demands more research and comprehensive, science-based treatments that everyone can access. It also urges us to strengthen health systems and address all of obesity’s root causes.
