Share Your Access to Care Stories to Help Humanize Obesity for U.S. Legislators during Obesity Care Week, March 1st – 7th!

The OAC is a proud Founding Champion of Obesity Care Week (OCW), which will take place March 1st – 7th. OCW is a global campaign dedicated to changing the way we care about obesity through awareness, education and advocacy. During OCW, the OAC will align our efforts by visiting Capitol Hill to urge U.S. legislators to support the Treat and Reduce Obesity Act (TROA). If passed, TROA will give Medicare beneficiaries expanded access to meaningful obesity treatment tools such as FDA-approved medications, behavior counseling and others.

While meeting face-to-face with legislators about the importance of passing TROA is exciting, the most compelling messages that lead to ACTION come from real people impacted by obesity with a desire to see change in our healthcare system.

Whether or not you have Medicare, TROA speaks to the broader issue at hand: we need to improve access to obesity care. That’s where you come in!
