Redefining Obesity: Beyond “Eat Less, Move More”

Obesity isn’t just about a number on the scale — it’s a multifaceted, chronic disease influenced by a variety of factors. Obesity medicine physician Beverly Tchang, MD, will delve deep into the complexities of obesity and challenge misconceptions about the disease. She will also address the disparities and inequalities that disproportionately affect marginalized communities by examining social determinants of health and systemic barriers to map out the path to equitable access to comprehensive obesity care. We must challenge the stigma and shame associated with seeking treatment in order to foster a culture of empathy, understanding and self-advocacy.
