Did you know that more than one in three people living with obesity may also have a serious but often undiagnosed liver disease?
Join the Obesity Action Coalition (OAC) for an engaging Facebook Live event exploring the link between obesity and liver diseases like MASH/NASH. This event brings together medical expertise, lived experience and real-time audience engagement in a short, informative 30-minute format.
What is MASH?
Metabolic dysfunction-associated steatohepatitis (MASH) — formerly known as NASH (Nonalcoholic steatohepatitis) — is a progressive liver disease that can lead to serious complications if left undiagnosed and untreated. It often presents no symptoms until the condition is advanced.
This event will break down:
- What MASH/NASH is and why it matters
- Who is at risk
- How to screen and protect your liver health
- Steps for managing the condition through lifestyle changes and emerging treatments
Featuring:
- Dr. Jonathan Stine, MD, MSc, FACP, Fatty Liver Program Director, Penn State Health
- Brenda Broussard, Patient Advocate Living with MASH
- James Zervios, OAC Chief Operating Officer
