Ask Texas Lawmakers to Support Coverage for Obesity Care

Background: For years advocates have worked to improve access to care for Texans living with obesity. Sponsors in both the House and Senate have introduced legislation that would provide comprehensive obesity treatments, including intensive behavioral and lifestyle therapy, metabolic and bariatric surgery, and FDA-approved obesity medications.

Texas HB 2677 / SB 2729 would provide Medicaid coverage for treatments for obesity, including intensive behavioral and lifestyle therapy, metabolic and bariatric surgery, and FDA-approved obesity medications.
