Ask Minnesota Lawmakers to Support Coverage for Obesity Care

Background: For years advocates have worked to improve access to care for Minnesotans living with obesity. The Minnesota General Assembly has introduced legislation which would provide coverage for the comprehensive treatment of obesity to allow patients and their healthcare providers additional tools in their individual journey to improved health.

HF 690/SF 2075 would provide coverage for the comprehensive treatment of obesity under state-regulated health plans and Minnesota’s Medical Assistance Program – including coverage for intensive behavioral therapy, bariatric surgery, and FDA-approved anti-obesity medications.
