Background: In 2023, Connecticut passed a law that provided Medicaid coverage for FDA-approved obesity medications. However, the Connecticut Department of Social Services (DSS) has not developed a coverage plan, so patients are still without access to these essential treatments.
Additionally, despite there being no current Medicaid coverage in place, Governor Lamont has included language to repeal the coverage in his proposed budget.
Take Action Now: Use OAC’s advocacy tool to demand Governor Lamont and Connecticut lawmakers to support Medicaid coverage for FDA-approved obesity medications, as mandated by law.
