For as long as I have been alive I have been overweight, which turned to obesity, and currently I am morbidly obese. I am 23-years-old with two sons, and a body mass index (BMI) of 57. I will be dead in less than 20 years if something is not done. That is scary. I have tried every diet imaginable, fat burners, diet pills, herbal supplements with no luck. I have been researching weight-loss surgery for almost three years and I decided that I do not just want to do it – I need to do it so I can live for my children. The only problem is that after all the years of researching and educating myself, because it is not an easy decision to come upon, I may not get covered through my insurance provider.

So I am destined to die young. Being hopeful, I started my six month monitored diet hoping that all will go well, and in less than a year I will be on my way to a brand new healthy life. After attending a seminar from Hope Bariatrics in Sewickley, PA, I have learned a great deal, so thank you for posting such informative material. Lets all pray that every obese person that chooses or needs to have weight-loss surgery will not be turned away.
