NEW BLOG SERIES – Get to Know Us
The OAC recently marked its nine-year anniversary and throughout the past nine years, we’ve had the distinct pleasure of working with one of the finest National Board of Directors and a dedicated staff. From its inception, the OAC was designed to be a voice but not just any voice. It was designed to be the voice of all individuals affected by the disease of obesity.
Today, the OAC is a nearly 50,000 member-strong organization with members ranging from Alaska to Florida. OAC members have continually fought, alongside our Board Members and staff, on various issues dealing with access to care, weight bias and so much more. As a result, OAC leaders have had the opportunity to learn so much about our membership through various channels, such as the OAC member profile in the Members Make a Difference E-newsletter, the OAC member profile in OAC Members Matter (featured each quarter in Your Weight Matters Magazine) and most of all the Your Weight Matters National Annual Convention.
But…have YOU had the opportunity to meet the OAC National Board of Directors and staff?
Starting Thursday, May 8, we will unveil a BRAND NEW blog series where we will feature an OAC Board Member or member of the OAC staff each week in a 10-question interview format. Each board or staff member will answer 10 questions ranging from, “How did you get involved with the OAC?” to “If you could have chosen one career other than your current one, what would it have been?” This in-depth, yet light-hearted, look at the OAC leadership will give YOU the opportunity to learn more about the OAC Board and staff. As a bonus, you will have the opportunity to ask a board or staff member questions, by submitting a comment on the blog.
NEW SERIES STARTS MAY 8!
Visit the OAC Blog on May 8 for our first interview with Michelle “Eggface” Vicari, OAC National Board Member. Michelle will give us an inside look at why the OAC is important to her and much more!
