What is the difference between the Free “Friend of the OAC” level and the paid membership levels?
“Friend of the OAC"
The OAC welcomes ALL individuals who want to be a part of our efforts to join the OAC. The key component to our membership is to have active voices that want to contribute to reducing the obesity epidemic in some manner. The “Friend of the OAC” level accomplishes this need.
In addition, this category does not expire. Once you join as a “Friend of the OAC,” you will be added to our mailing and electronic lists to stay current on what the OAC is involved with and how you can get involved and make a difference.
Paid Membership
Paid membership is an important way for the OAC to continue the work that we do. As a non profit organization, the OAC is funded through charitable contributions, which includes our paid membership. The OAC serves hundreds of thousands of individuals each year, and our membership dollars help us reach out to those individuals, in addition to serving our current membership.
By joining as a paid member, you receive varied benefits as compared to the “Friends of the OAC” membership category. In addition, you are also making a financial contribution to the OAC.
