2013 Barbara Thompson Award for Advocacy
This award honors the OAC Member who has led the charge in taking on National, local and state advocacy issues. This individual should be a tireless advocate to advance the cause of obesity and the individual affected by obesity.
Qualifications to be Considered:
- Active and current OAC Member
- Active advocate in OAC platform issues of improving access to care, raising awareness of obesity, impacting legislation or taking on weight bias
- Credited with impacting significant change in advocacy
Criteria Used for Review: The winner will be an OAC member who is a constant and active advocate in OAC platform issues, such as access to care, weight bias, prevention of obesity and awareness. The winner should be someone who works with the OAC on advocacy issues and motivated to help individuals affected by obesity.
